Located just outside historic Nevada City—about an hour and a half from both Sacramento and Reno—Songcatcher Dachshunds is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. Since 1988, our fourth-generation family ranch has been dedicated to raising high-quality dachshunds. Our nursery is designed around the needs of our mothers and puppies, helping every litter begin in a loving, healthy environment.

We raise Mini dachshunds, typically 10–13 pounds as adults, and Tweeny dachshunds, typically 14–18 pounds. Our program includes longhaired and smooth coats, English creams, and a wide range of patterns and colors, with health and socialization guiding every pairing.
Beyond dachshunds, our ranch is home to cattle, laying hens, and foundation Quarter Horses. This lively environment creates a balanced rhythm of animal care and a rich setting for our dogs to grow and thrive.
Our dachshunds receive quality nutrition, including high-quality kibble supplemented with raw food, while puppies receive premium kibble for healthy growth. They live in climate-controlled quarters with expansive, dog-park-like yards for daily activity and play.
